Color Outside The Lines

By January 30, 2018Photography

Hello everyone!  I hope your weekend was just as good as mine.  So, let me share something with you that I did last week. For the first time since I have been in Tennessee, which has only been about two months, I actually got outside the studio to wonder the city of Nashville to take some landscape photos. It was my friend Jared’s idea to go out and explore and have fun. We also met up with another photographer friend Kris while we were in town. Some of you may or may not know but I love taking landscape photos, its almost theruptic for me like going fishing.  I have been so focused on building my business back up I almost forgot why I love photography in the first place.

The day we wondered out last week was pretty awesome compared to the weather we have been experiencing,  it was sunny, not to windy, and clear skies. What made it exciting for me was that while we were walking around, we all were noticing different light, shadows, and scenes the environment provided for us. There was no right or wrong, we just photographed what we thought was interesting,  it was a nice change of pace from the grind.  For me, it reminded me of how fun photography.

Listen, in photography there has to be an understanding of light, how to control it, and how to use it, but other than that the sky is the limit. You can choose to color within the lines or color outside of it, it doesn’t matter.  It doesn’t matter because photography is art too. Everyone has a different perspective to things they see around them. Don’t be afraid to be creative and share with others what you see. I hope all of you have a great week and don’t forget to make time for the things you love to do.

Sincerely,

Marcus Serrano
