Hero Of The Week

Meet Dan, he is this week’s Hero. Dan started his public service as a fire explorer at the young age of 12 with the Ashland City Fire Dept. Since then, he has never looked back.

Dan has spent most of his adult life working in emergency services. His hard worked earned him to become the EMS Chief. Along with his primary duty, he is also the Cheatham County Medical Examiner Investigator, Reserve Deputy for the Sheriff department, and also a volunteer Criminal Investigator for the District Attorney General.

He is a proud husband to a wife of fifteen years and a father to 3 wonderful boys.  Dan had told me that he consciously chooses to be a public servant knowing that it does not pay as well as athletes or movie stars.  He has missed birthdays and holidays to help comfort those who were hurting or in need. He loves to help and serve others because that is who he is and who he always will be.

Thank you Dan for serving, and for doing all that you do, not only for the community, but also for your family. People that do what you do with a selfless heart are the real stars and heroes whether you think so or not.

Sincerely,

Marcus Serrano

Hero Of The Week!

Meet Allie. She is this week’s Hero. Allie decided at a young age that she wanted to be a police officer and is now living that dream.

She works hard day in and day out for the Cheatham County Sherriff’s Department all while being a single mom to her three kiddos.

Being a mother has made her more aware of the risks she takes working in law enforcement and she is more conscious of her own safety than she would have been before she had kids. As she puts it, “I want to be able to make it home to my kids.”

Allie truly has a heart to serve and protect her community maybe even more so now that she is a mom. She knows part of the job is sometimes putting herself in harms way, but she is willing to do it. She knows that not only is she protecting the community in which she serves, but she is also protecting her family. She does it willingly day after day.

Thank you to Allie for serving, and for doing all that you do, not only for the community, but also for your kiddos. Whether she thinks so or not, she is a hero.

Sincerely,

Marcus Serrano
